Unheard One plays house, disco house, funky house and afro house. They share a pulse, but they do different jobs. House is the backbone: steady drums, warm basslines and enough space for a melody to get under your skin. Disco house brings the shine — strings, handclaps, bright chords and the feeling that somebody has just opened the doors to a much better room.
Funky house is looser and a little less well behaved. The bass moves more, the hooks arrive with their elbows out, and even the quieter tracks tend to grin. Afro house takes its time. Percussion leads, grooves build in layers and the tune often reaches the destination long after you stopped asking where it was going. The station also slips into deep house and lounge when the hour calls for less daylight.
Every track is generated for Unheard One. It does not come from a licensed catalogue, a label pool or somebody else's playlist, and no other station has it. The point is not to imitate a record collection. It is to make a station with its own musical memory: tracks that belong beside these voices, these shows and this particular hour of the day.
That also means there is no back catalogue to request from. If you like something, save it or tap Like. Those signals help decide what deserves another spin. Miss a track and it may return, but there is no promise; this is radio, and radio is allowed to keep moving.
The Boot Sequence runs from 06:00 to 10:00 in New York time, with Rex, Nova and Marjorie carrying the morning between music, news and the day's increasingly avoidable arguments. Daytime Spice follows with disco, afro and lounge through the middle of the day. On weekday afternoons, Rush Hour to Nowhere leans into funky disco; weekends keep the same stretch meeting-free.
After Work takes Wednesday through Saturday from 18:00 to 21:00 with underground house, funky house and Jax and Jennifer making each other worse. On Monday and Tuesday evenings, The Evening Belongs to the Drums moves from a little underground house into afro house after dark; on Sunday it takes the full evening. Unheard Nights follows late, and Afterhours with Milo settles into deep house from 23:00 until sunrise.
